Commodity Watch: Aluminium Futures Fall On Low Demand

New Delhi: Aluminium prices on Monday declined 80 paise to Rs 232 per kilogram in the futures market as participants trimmed their positions on a weak trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in May fell 80 paise or 0.34 per cent to Rs 232 per kg in 3,276 lots.
Copper futures gain on higher bets
Copper prices on Monday rose 0.59 per cent to Rs 853.85 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in May increased Rs 5.05 or 0.59 per cent to Rs 853.85 per kg in 2,268 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported copper prices in the futures market.
Zinc futures rise on fresh participation
Zinc prices on Monday rose by 80 paise to Rs 248.70 per kilogram in futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for May delivery traded higher by 80 paise or 0.32 per cent at Rs 248.70 per kg with a business turnover of 2,008 lots.
